Sabine Maier

My motivation

At the age of 20, I travelled to Brazil for the first time, where I worked with families affected by poverty and street children at several NGOs. This experience had a profound impact on me. Since then, I have been committed to promoting equal opportunities for local communities and am convinced that participatory development cooperation can contribute to lasting change.

After completing my training as a primary school teacher and studying social sciences and NPO management, I joined Vivamos in 2005 as Co-Director and Head of Programme. I later held two senior positions in other NGOs before returning to Vivamos.
